Our Volunteer Recruitment process is informal and informative. We hold regular sessions across Manchester that give us the opportunity to find out more about you and for you to ask any questions. The sessions also cover training so that you are fully equipped to start you befriending journey.

As part of the process we ask that applicants undertake a Police Check – this is called a DBS check. This checks includes a search for spent and unspent convictions, cautions, reprimands and final warnings.

You will also be asked to give us information about hobbies, likes and dislikes and details of two referees.

Lots of people who come to the recruitment sessions have never volunteered before so we really like to make it as welcoming and relaxed as possible. As well as cakes and a brew we also strive to offer full accessibility to our sessions and will ask if you have any special requests beforehand. If you have a group of people who would like to Volunteer we can come out to you and run a session in your work place/community group.
